I’ve spent most of my career around restaurants—first operating them, and now helping restaurant owners make real estate decisions.

One thing I’ve learned: the best information rarely comes from a listing flyer. It comes from conversations—with operators, chefs, brokers, landlords, developers, attorneys and other people actually doing deals.

That’s why we’re starting this newsletter.

Every issue, I’ll share some of what I’m seeing and hearing: interesting spaces, unusual opportunities, deals that need the right operator, lessons from the field, and occasionally something I think is worth reading.

Some of these will be KAIN listings. Some won’t be. And sometimes I’ll share an opportunity before there’s even a listing for it.

The goal is simple: useful information for restaurant people.
